Samples, Coupons & Freebies
I love going to the mail box and getting free samples! It is amazing how many companies are willing to give away free samples to show off new products or remind consumers to keep buying their products. One of my favorite places to find free samples is from Work Place Like Home in the Frugal Stuff folder. Whenever anyone finds a free sample they post it to the Freebies & Coupons Sub-Forum.
I also get my free samples by going directly to my favorite companies websites and looking around to see what types of promotions they are offering. Many times, even if they are not offering free samples, they will be offering great coupons. Walmart and StartSampling are a few other places that you can find samples and coupons.
When you go to a companies website to request a free sample, you are given an option to receive emails and offers from that company with the option to receive email from their partners. You don't have to sign up for the email to receive the sample, but the emails sometimes contain links to the latest samples they are sending out along with coupons to their most popular products. That is a great way to always be on top of the latest samples heading out in the mail!
If you are worried about your email inbox getting filled up with tons to junk mail, you are right, once you sign up you will get hit with all sorts of emails...the best way to avoid getting your personal email from getting slammed with all sorts of junk, is to create an email address just for signing up to receive your free sample or coupon. There is also a website that you can add your home address to, that will help keep junk mail down...in case you are worried about getting hit with tons of junk mail. I have never noticed a huge amount of extra junk mail that usually goes along with signing up for some random thing, but I did add my mailing address to a few lists and have noticed a huge decrease in junk mail...including all of those annoying credit card offers that I will never sign up for but that have my name and address all over. This article here from the Today Show has a great list of places to sign up for to stop receiving unwanted mail, OptOutPrescreen.com is a great one to sign up for! I also signed up for the National Do Not Call Registry and that helps too. Even if you never sign up to receive a Free Sample or Coupon online, it is a good idea to sign up with these places just to keep the junk down and to help keep from getting reeled into the credit card trap.
When I fill out the form to receive the sample, freebie or coupon, I use my initials for my first and middle name, that way if I receive any junk mail that is complete nonsense addressed to my initials, I know where it came from.
I love surfing the net, looking for Free Samples and Coupons and spend a few minutes several times a week looking around. If you don't want to sign up for any newsletters from companies, I don't mind. Come back and see what new offers I come across and post here.
